Dual-Trolley Surgical Patient Transfer System for Controlled Docking and Platform Transfer

The JH-OCT105 is designed around a different concept from a conventional one-piece hospital stretcher. Instead of using a single trolley throughout the entire transport route, the system combines two height-adjustable trolley units with a transferable patient platform and a dedicated docking track.

At the transfer point, the two trolley units can be brought into alignment and adjusted to the same level. The patient platform then travels along the docking track from one trolley to the other, allowing the platform to become the connection between the two transport units.

This mechanical docking concept is particularly suited to hospital and operating room transfer workflows where a dedicated handover point is required between different transport areas.

Height Alignment before Patient Platform Transfer

Two Independently Adjustable Trolley Units

Both trolley units of the JH-OCT105 can be adjusted in height. The overall product specification is L3650 × W640 × H640–970 mm.

Before the sliding platform is transferred, the two trolley units are adjusted to the same level. Correct height alignment creates the required path for the patient platform to move between the two units.

Why Height Alignment Matters in a Docking System

Unlike a conventional transport stretcher, the JH-OCT105 relies on the relationship between two separate mobile bases.

The first step is therefore not simply positioning the trolley beside another surface. The two trolley units must be correctly aligned so that the sliding patient platform can travel smoothly across the docking structure.

A380.2 High-Strength Aluminum Alloy Docking Track

Die-Cast Track Designed for Platform Guidance

The docking track is manufactured from high-strength A380.2 aluminum alloy using a die-casting process.

This track forms the mechanical guide for movement of the patient platform during transfer between the two trolley units.

The aluminum alloy track should be distinguished from the main trolley structure: the transfer track uses A380.2 aluminum alloy, while the main trolley body is manufactured from welded carbon structural steel.

Sliding Patient Platform with Four Quiet-Running Rollers

The Patient Platform Moves between the Two Trolleys

The JH-OCT105 uses a movable patient platform manufactured from molded ABS engineering plastic.

Four quiet-running rollers are installed beneath the platform. These rollers support movement along the docking track as the patient platform travels from one trolley unit to the other.

A Different Transfer Principle from a Conventional Stretcher

With a conventional stretcher, the complete trolley normally travels with the patient. With this docking system, the patient platform itself can transfer between two separate trolley bases.

The platform therefore acts as the transferable section of the system while the two trolley units serve as the mobile bases on either side of the docking point.

Automatic Locking after the Platform Reaches the Receiving Trolley

Mechanical Positioning after Sliding Transfer

Once the patient platform has moved onto the receiving trolley, an automatic locking mechanism secures it in position.

The system also incorporates a secondary safety device for additional securing after the platform reaches the trolley.

304 Stainless Steel Locking and Safety Components

The locking mechanism and safety device are manufactured from 304 stainless steel.

This provides a dedicated mechanical connection between the transferable patient platform and the trolley base after the docking movement has been completed.

Dock, Transfer, Lock and Continue

1. Bring the Two Trolley Units to the Transfer Point

Position the sending trolley and receiving trolley on the required sides of the docking area.

2. Adjust Both Units to the Same Height

Use the height-adjustment functions of the two trolley units to establish an aligned transfer level.

3. Complete the Docking Alignment

Bring the two units into the correct docking relationship so that the aluminum alloy transfer track provides a continuous path for the sliding platform.

4. Move the Patient Platform

The patient platform travels across the docking structure on the four rollers installed beneath it.

5. Allow the Automatic Lock to Engage

When the platform reaches the receiving trolley, the locking system secures it in position.

6. Confirm the Secondary Safety Mechanism

The additional safety device provides a second securing element before the transfer procedure is completed.

7. Separate the Two Trolley Units

Once the platform is correctly secured, the receiving trolley can continue with the next stage of patient transportation.

Central Braking Systems on Both Trolley Units

Eight Ø150 mm Central-Control Casters

The complete JH-OCT105 system uses eight Ø150 mm central-control casters, with both trolley units equipped with central braking.

The caster structure uses PA6 for the main frame and wheel core together with a TPU wear-resistant tread.

Precision ball bearings are incorporated into the caster assembly, while the wheel design is specified for reduced noise and vibration during movement.

Secure the Mobile Bases before Docking

Because the system relies on alignment between two independent trolley units, braking is an important part of the docking procedure.

The central braking systems allow the trolley units to be secured after they have been positioned for patient platform transfer.

Ø100 mm Directional Wheel

The system includes one Ø100 mm directional wheel.

This component provides directional assistance during trolley movement and supports controlled travel when a straighter transport path is required.

Gas-Spring Assisted Backrest

Mechanical Patient Position Adjustment

The patient platform incorporates a gas-spring assisted backrest.

The gas spring provides the supporting force for backrest adjustment and allows the caregiver to change the patient's upper-body position according to the transfer or transport requirement.

The supplied technical specification does not state a numerical backrest angle, so no unsupported adjustment range is assigned to this model.

Lift-Up ABS Side Rails

Molded ABS engineering-plastic lift-up side rails are installed on both sides of the patient platform.

The raised rails provide lateral protection around the patient platform during transport, while the lift-up structure allows greater access when patient handling is required.

Welded Carbon Steel Trolley Structure

Steel Mobile Bases with Powder-Coated Finish

The main trolley bodies are manufactured from welded carbon structural steel.

After surface preparation and rust removal, the steel structure receives an electrostatic resin powder coating.

This means the JH-OCT105 uses different materials according to their structural function: carbon steel for the trolley body, A380.2 high-strength aluminum alloy for the docking track and molded ABS engineering plastic for the patient platform and side rails.

Two-Section 304 Stainless Steel IV Pole

A two-section adjustable IV pole is included in the standard configuration.

The IV pole is manufactured from 304 stainless steel and has a specified diameter of Ø19 mm.

It provides an integrated location for compatible infusion support during patient transportation.

Understanding the JH-OCT105 as a Complete Transfer System

Mobile Base 1

The first trolley supports the patient platform during the initial stage of transportation and can be height-adjusted for docking alignment.

Mobile Base 2

The second trolley receives the sliding patient platform after both units have been aligned.

Docking Track

The A380.2 die-cast aluminum alloy track guides movement of the patient platform between the two mobile bases.

Sliding Platform

The molded patient platform moves on four quiet-running rollers and remains the transferable support surface during the docking procedure.

Automatic Locking System

After reaching the receiving trolley, the patient platform automatically locks into position.

Secondary Safety Mechanism

An additional 304 stainless steel safety mechanism provides another securing element after the platform transfer is complete.

Together, these components form the mechanical architecture of the JH-OCT105 docking patient transfer system.

Engineered for Hospital and Operating Room Transfer Workflows

The JH-OCT105 is intended for hospital environments where patient transfer requires a dedicated docking point between two transport units.

Its operating principle combines height alignment, an A380.2 aluminum alloy transfer track, a roller-supported sliding patient platform and automatic mechanical locking. Both trolley units then provide their own mobility and central braking for the transport stages on either side of the docking point.
